What we do
Camp is held on Orcas Island, the second largest of Washington's famous San Juan Islands, which provides a unique and beautiful opportunity for campers to experience the outdoors as they learn about the environment and ecosystems around them. Each year, young people 12-16 come from around the 'country to experience the wonder and discovery of island life. Both boys and girls camps are 7 days long, and take place during the last two weeks of July.
At camp, we understand that young people learn best when they are provided with hands-on experiences. The week is broken down into 4 days of hands on classes, with Friday set aside for class competitions and recognition to those who help make camp successful. While learning Is our primary goal, we know kids need time to relax, play, and make new friends. Campers will have free time daily for activities like swimming, canoeing, volleyball, basketball, and enjoying the natural beauty of the island.
Who we are
Camp is supported entirely by a volunteer staff of instructors and counselors, many of whom have participated in camp as a camper. The instructors live what they teach and enjoy sharing their passion with others. Counselors have each been campers themselves, being asked to move into the role by demonstrating leadership skills and a desire to help other while they were campers.
